job shadow day

On February 3rd 2009 i participated in the national ground hog day job shadow day at the Desmond hotel and conference center. while i was there i shadowed Sheri Edwards who is the front desk manager at the Desmond, her primary responsibilities are to report front desk operations, makes sure guest receive proper service, schedule payroll, her secondary responsibilities are to check room availability to make sure have enough for the guest checking in, and that guest were billed properly, Sheri use to work at the Saratoga race track harness tack as a cook and went to SCCC for culinary and now is at the Desmond where there are 140 full time employees, and 65 part time employees, Sheri has worked at the Desmond for 10 years, she has worked in the sales department, receptions, reservations managers, and director for transit sales. her best advice is to work hard for what ever you want to do, and be extremely friendly even if your having a crappy day and gotta be nice to every single person.
