this week while at the Marriott i worked at the room service department with Joel and we got to pick up trays and see some the hotel room lie the suites that weren't occupied, we also went through what he did every morning when he clocks in and if there's anything that he has to follow, learned that he gets paid under minimum wage because he gets tips, Joel showed us how he gets an order if its preset, or telephone in from room, and Joel makes a list of the hotel rooms and highlights the hotel rooms that had food delivered so he will no what rooms to pick up the next day or later that day.

on Tuesday December 2 i worked as a lien cook with sandy, me and her got to work with Brian mostly but also with Tom, there Brian showed me how to make a wrap, and then i got to place pastries on pans so they could be baked, i helped sandy with scooping batter of muffin mix into the pans and also had to put more muffin mix into the containers and label and date them. i also got there recipe for there french fries, you fry them and when there done you season them with salt and pepper and then add parsley, and shake them up and till all seasoned.
banquet server
today i worked as a banquet server with Ginny, overall there wasn't much to do because the Marriott was pretty dead due to the holiday and not many people were eating in the restaurant so i got to learn many different things and also asked many different question to Melissa, was pretty interesting day i found out they since i have been to the Marriott last year they switched there menu around and added a few new things to it, i also learned what they serve for breakfast and they told me that people aren't normally smart when it comes to breakfast because they forget that most of the food are on the buffet but instead order separately which in the end cost more, so they don't complain but in the end its funny to see how many people don't really look at the menu before the actual order, it was also interesting to find out that celebrities stay and on that day there was the undertaker and the big show, i learned also that when on of the NY giants players stayed at the Marriott he stayed on a false name.

guest speaker- Gary Miltner
on Wednesday November 12Th Gary Miltner from Robison and Smith textile company came and spoke to the class about what the work force is and what he does in Johns town and how he got there in the first place it was interesting to learn how he started out in a different career path and found way into the lien industry and worked fro national company and liked it a lot, but then got a chance to not be a number so went for a family owned and operated business and liked it there and soon will have been there for like 14 yrs. he told us about how much it cost for company's to use there lien service and what services they offer with each account. Gary Miltner had a lot to Say and was very informative and i think he helped and showed us more business that have to do with serving other people in other ways then just in hospitality, and his coming to speak with us is important because it gives another business that deals with people and shows that to get people to like your service you have to be ethical and have good attitude and be respectful and bit your lip when comes to things.
